My workout challenge for April! Join me if you want!

So I've decided to crawl my lazy butt back on the workout wagon. I've taken about 9 days off here  and well, its time to get up and get back to my workouts.
So I and a couple people I work with are doing a workout challenge.   Simply we're saying how many workouts we're doing in April. That's it.  Simple, right?

Me, I'm doing 13 workouts in April. And I'm going to reward myself when I hit 13 workouts. I'm getting a big old bottle of this.
Vintner's Daughter Serum. Very expensive.  But I had a sample I manged to get to last for a month, and this is big enough it should last about 5-6 months.  And I thought my skin looked better when I was used it. SOOOO.  Its a great reward for hitting my goal of 13 workouts in a month.  So I have a great reason to hit that goal!

If you want to join me, just comment on my blog.  I'll be posting about my challenge here during April.

I also need to focus on my eating a little Slacked off this weekend, and I'm up a half a pound, but that's not horrid.  But I don't want it to turn horrid, so back at it tomorrow.

That's about it for today.   Hope you all have a great day.

Back to saving money

I put money in my little savings account again. First time since Jan.  Bout time.  I need to start saving up money again.  I have things I'd like to buy.  I'd like to buy a really "woo woo" purse. You know, one of those purses that are expensive cause they have a name on them.  I've got my eye on a few, but I need to save up more money for them.
I think this one is super cute:
Might just see if its still around when I get enough saved up.

And I need to lay off buying quite as much makeup. I've got SOOO much I need to actually use, so I need to lay off getting new right now.  I've gotten quite a bit already this month, so I think I'm done for a while.  I mean, I have stuff I want to get. but man.  Its enough already.  Use what I've got for a while. After all, I have 3 project pans I'm working on right now, so I need to work on using the stuff in my project pans.

I picked up a shift at the nursing home for tonight.  Planning on putting that money either away in savings, or paying down my credit card.  Or maybe I'll put half in savings and put the other half to an extra payment. That sounds like a pretty good idea.  I've got a small balance, and it would be nice to get it paid off.

I was thinking of doing a shopping trip next Tue. cause hubby will be gone. But I think maybe I'll stay at home, and put the money I would have splurged on myself into savings.   And after a weekend of work, maybe a day at home, alone, would be just what the nurse ordered.  I might just give myself a mani/pedi.  A facial. A hot bath.  A long workout.  Just do self care.   Self care is just what I might need after a long weekend of work this coming weekend.

Now, time to eat supper!  Hope you have a great day.

What a difference a workout can make

See this happy face?  This is the face of someone who just killed her Peloton workout!   I had not biked in like 7 days. I was not feeling well last weekend, sinus pressure/crap.  Then went into a very long 3 day stretch at work.  LOTS of very sick people.  LOTS!  Not flu thank goodness, but just sick.  Busy busy busy.   I was so exhausted today.  I mean I almost, ALMOST skipped my workout.  Literally, as I was walking to change my clothes to spin, I was thinking "I should just go to bed, or watch tv or something"

But I didn't!  I changed my clothes, and I went and picked a nice 30 min workout. Something a little challenging. Something with an awesome 70s mix of music.
And I hit a new PR for my ride!.
I really enjoyed this workouts.  I'll be looking for more of Christine's rides.  I liked her style.
I just feel SOOO much better now.  More energy, happier.  And I know I'll sleep better tonight.

I recommend everyone get a little workout in a few times a week!  It does your body and mood good.

In the makeup front, well, Colorpop made an GREEN palette.  I LOVE GREEN.
Its called Just my Luck. Isn't it just so pretty!  Of course I bought it DUH!   While I think Colourpop needs to slow down with releases, this one is so super pretty.   I'll probably review it on my YouTube channel.  Here's a link if you are interested in checking out my beauty channel.  Barbells and Beauty

I also have a fitness channel..  I'd like to see it grow a little as I attempt to get fit.  Rhonda Gets Fit

I guess that's about it for today.  I'm looking forward to riding again tomorrow. Might attempt a 45 min workout.  I'll keep you updated!

My face hurts. I hate when my face hurts

I've got a sinus thing. I don't think its infection, just a plugged up sinus.  Yesterday, it was both of them behind my cheekbones.  Today its mostly my right cheek sinus.   Its the kind where it makes your upper teeth HURT.  And they do.  The hurting teeth float from one tooth to another UGH.

And then my face hurts when I go outside.  I mean its about 35 degrees below normal, and our windchills are well below zero, Fahrenheit.  I walked to the mailbox and back today, which usually takes just a couple mins, and my face was getting numb from the wind on it. WTF.  Its MARCH not January.  Its normally like 41 degrees. Today it was 9F.  That's up from 4F yesterday. UM, someone turn up the heat outside just a little bit, ok.  Thanks!.

I'm hungry but I don't know what I want to eat.  Oh, I know what I want to eat, but A: its not good for me and B: its not in the house and C: I'm not going outside in the dark, in the cold to get donuts.  So, I guess I need to get something I have in the house that's sort of healthy.

I ordered these the other day, and they came Fri.
I need to actually try them out.  My face has been hurting so bad I just can't do much.  I'm getting better, so I hope to get a spinning workout in tomorrow before I go to work.

I'd rather not work ever lol.  I think I just want to retire early so I can laze around the house and help hubby keep it up.  And get my decluttering done.  I've slacked off on my declutter quite a bit here lately.  I need to drop off the bad of stuff I've decluttered and go through more stuff and declutter more.

My weight loss is slow.  Very slow.  But better slow than nothing.  Lost a total of 6.4lbs since Dec 1.  Ok, very slow, but I'm ok with slow.   Slow is better than no weight loss, which is still better than gaining.  I think once spring finally arrives, I'll do a little better.  Mainly cause I'll want to go outside and putz around the yard, and eventually get a flower garden planted.

I'm hoping by summer, I'll be able to cut back to part-time at the hospital.  That will be really nice.  Only working 2 nights a week will sure be better than 3 nights a week.  We're getting a lot of new nurses hired, so I won't feel bad.  They won't be in a bind not having me there one fewer night a week.

I'm sitting here with Odin sharing the footrest of my recliner. He's been a little stinker this weekend, but then he'll be a little lover, or we'll play and its almost all forgiven. LOL.

That's about all I have to say.  I really need to get something to eat.  My stomach is really starting to growl.  And I don't want to be hangry.

Congrats to Rami!

Ok, so I really didn't watch the Oscars. I watched a few min at the end, but that's it.  Heck I've only seen two of the "big" nominees, Black Panther, which wasn't even Marvel studios best picture of the year let alone one of the best pics of the year, and Bohemian Rhapsody.

I adored Rami's portrayal of Freddie in Bohemian Rhapsody. So of course, I'm thrilled he won.  Members of Queen have said they are amazed at how he "became" Freddie, so if they think he did an outstanding job, then he probably deserved to win.

In other words, I'm LOVING my new Peloton bike!!!!  I've used it quite a few times, and except the mild soreness in my butt from the seat, look forward to my ride.  I'm right now working on heart rate zones and next month I'm going to do Power Zone training for a while.  I need to get my cardio capacity better.  I think doing the power zone, which gets you working in different zones, after you test on zones, and push you to get maybe a little harder.

Otherwise, I just can't get myself together. I'm feeling very discouraged.  I'm counted calories, I've tracked macros. I've worked out some. I'm up 1.2lbs. UGH!  Ok, so lets do measurements. Well, that's a fail.  CRAP!   I know this winter has got me in a HUGE funk, and I know for a while I've been cheating A LOT. But come on, this last week I was doing so well.  WTF!  I hate this sometimes.

Maybe I need to work my macros out more. Change it up.  Or just keep going for a couple more weeks and see what happens.  Maybe I need to curl up in a ball, under a blanket, bitch about how cold it is, be pissed at hubby who has lost like 10lbs cause of a new med that cuts his appetite and then take a long hot bath.

Or run away to a warmer climate for a while.  I'm sick of cold.  So much for March being the start of spring.  They are forecasting lows well WELL below zero. And highs barely hitting double digits.  And that's' Fahrenheit for anyone  who isn't in the US.  Normal high temps are usually in the upper 30s maybe lower 40s.  SOOO.  We'll be about 30 degrees below normal. UGH!.

So I'm fat, cold, and slightly discouraged.  And did I mention cold?

I totally forgot to mention this.

So I got myself a Peloton bike

I did.  I ordered the dang thing after the blessing of my hubby.

And you know what, I think I'm really going to enjoy it.  I've done 2 rides on it so far, and  I've enjoyed them both.  The feedback you get from the monitor is AMAZING!   It has spurred me on just a little harder than I would have worked out.   I don't want to be last lol.

I made a video introducing my new bike on my fitness YouTube channel.
Meet my Peloton

In other news, I kind of slipped up a little on my low sugar challenge.  I stopped one day at a local convenience store to knock more of the 4 inches of snow off my car and clean out my wipers that were coated with snow and ice.  And then like an idiot, got donuts to eat on the rest of the way home.  Then I ate Reeses Peices . UGH.  I only was gonna treat myself once a week, not twice a day.  So time to get back on track today.  Valentine's Day is over, and as long as I can stay away from the 50% off candy, I'll be good.

Hubby and I went to Des Moines, and I didn't even stop in Ulta or Sephora.  That's a big deal for me cause I was literally in the mall where Sephora is, and drove really close to where there is an Ulta.   I need to get a little less makeup.  Of course I also just ordered several singles from Coastal Scents sooo.

I think I might try to do another Project Pan.  A SuperHero theme.  I think that might be fun, and get me using more of my makeup.    I'll need to do a little thinking for this one.

More snow is on the way.  I'm about 19000000% over winter.   January lasted about 829 days, and so far February is lasting about 435 days.   We've had more than 43 inches of snow this winter according to my hubby who has been keeping track.   And more on the way,🙁🙁🙁   I'm done.  I need to move where it is at least above freezing.

Soon it will be warm (I hope) and I will be outside walking Odin on a leash. I can't wait.   He's grown so much.  He's a little stinker, getting chewing on everything and getting into everything.  But he's fun, he's cute and we know in a few months, he'll grow out of it and be better.  He's still not 100% housebroken, but its been so snowy and cold outside, sometimes we're like " just pee on the puppy pad"

Not to much else to say I guess.  Hope you all are staying warm.

I really, REALLY want a Peloton bike

I'm NOT a fan of cardio.  Oh, I enjoy a nice walk outside when the weather is nice,  and sometimes a kickboxing workout is a really nice thing to do when I want to punch someone.  But give me a choice, I'll pick lifting weights any day.

But, I had an old JohnnyG spin bike.  Bought it several years ago.  I used it a few times, but the dvd workouts that came with it were, well, boring.  Or they were after a few uses.  So I didn't use the bike for more than a few months.  Oh, I used it a few times as a warm up for lifting, or as a cardio burst in between lifting sets.  But not for real spinning

Enter the Peloton app.   I signed up for it very early in Jan.  Then I didn't use it for a couple weeks cause well, winter blues and all.  And a few stupid snow storms and just well, lazy.

Then I used it.  OMG!  I really enjoy the workouts.  There are SO many to pick.  And they have beginner workouts that are short.  So even me, with my craptastic cardio capacity, can manage a good cardio workout, without feeling like I need CPR.

But now, I want the bike.
I mean look at this.  One of the doctors at the hospital where I work has one, and we were talking last night.  He was saying how much better it is getting the feedback right then and there using the screen. And it would be nice to be able to really follow the cadence they say, and all that.  My bike, I just guess cause I don't have all that feedback like that.

I will get a bike.  I will.

I've been going through a little of my makeup and stuff, and putting some listings on Poshmark.  Here's a link to my closet, if anyone wants to check out what I have for sale.  Some shoes, and makeup right now.  But as I go through my closet in the next few weeks, I will be posting more stuff for sale.  Might be some decent stuff for sale.

My Poshmark Closet

That's about it for now.  Time to maybe take a short nap.  Worked last night and didn't sleep enough. Then put some makeup on, and go film a video or two,
