I need to get my lazy ass moving again

This has not been a great week for me fitness wise. I only went to Crossfit one time, then I totally messed up my eating a few times.  Cripes, time to get back on track.

I'm going to lose one more pound this month. So I need to get back to Crossfit 3 times next week, and get my eating back under control.  I feel better when I eat healthier.   But I've got to admit, unhealthy food sometimes just tastes GOOD!   So I need to get to where I eat healthy 85% of the time, and 15% of the time, treat myself with the yummy stuff that tastes so good.

I need to decide what I can reward myself with.  I was thinking of some new palettes.  But really, I just buy the makeup I want.  I need something bigger than makeup.  Maybe new shoes, or maybe new fitness stuff.

I know LUSH!  I could splurge on stuff from Lush.   There stuff is so awesome!

Ok, so next payday, if I hit my goal of losing one more pound by Oct 4, cause I started Sept 5, I will go splurge on stuff at Lush.  Cause I have a few things from Lush, but I've never really just splurged on it.   Maybe I need to really make it a big splurge like at least $75 on it.

So as you can see from my previous blog postings, I've posted a couple new You Tube videos.  I do wish I could get a few more viewers, but hey, its only been a week so I guess its just going to be slow going.  I like thinking that people watch and like what I put out there.   Just would be nice if I could get up with more subscribers. I'd love to go a give away when I hit 100 subscribers.  And it would be something nice.  A new palette or blush collection.  Maybe a combo.   A fitness dvd, makeup and a sample of protein powder.

I think that is a great idea.  If I can get 100 subscribers to my You Tube channel, I'll do a give away of some nice stuff.  So if you are interested in getting stuff, subscribe lol.

Mini Ulta haul and first Impression of Revlon Colorstay foundation

I just got this filmed and I hope you enjoy it.

What a night, and a first impression of Makeup Forever stick foundation

I was right when I thought it would be a rough night. It was in spades.  Long, busy, with a patient that decided she thought breathing was getting to hard to do on her own.  Ended up on a ventilator at the end of my shift.  We hope that in a day or two when she can rest up and let the antibiotics work, she'll be able to come off the vent and be ok.  I hope so.

I've got 4 days off. Well I picked up a half shift at the nursing home I do a little PRN work at tomorrow, but for the most part, I have 4 days off.  I think I'm going to need them.  I was just so freaking tired today.  I mean just tired, that bone tired, have trouble staying awake while I ate breakfast tired.  So I was bad and skipped Crossfit today.  I do feel bad about it, but I think I needed the rest.

I wore a new foundation last night.  The Make Up Forever Ultra HD Cover stick foundation.  Its a lot more expensive than my last foundation, but I want to cover both high end and pricier stuff.  Its $43 on Sephora when I picked it up a week or so ago. Here's what it looks like.

I had it on about 15 hours, between my almost 12 hour day plus the 40 min drive to and 40 min drive home for work.  I only saw a little settling into the lines on my forehead, and that was probably due to my facial expressions during the night. See the first paragraph.  Anyway, it also stayed on pretty good, or so I thought when I looked this morning.  Of course, I must admit, that due to be being really tired, I didn't give it much of a look before washing my makeup off and going to bed.  Maybe next week I'll have a better review.   Maybe on Sun evening I'll film a full review.

I'll be posting a new You Tube video today.  I had one partially filmed, but when editing it, I thought it looked pretty crappy, so I'm going to redo it, and maybe find a better place to film.

I hope everyone is doing well, I hope you all have a great weekend, and hope your lives are filled with love and laughter.

One more night, just one more horrid night

I've had 2 not so good nights of work.  We have one person there who is only there due to his crap choices in life.  I mean when you drink yourself into a stroke, then still drink like a fish, I just don't have much sympathy for you.  Then be a total ass, while in the hospital, I really don't.  You're little " I'm sorry" while we clean you up, again, from pulling your IV out, again, doesn't go real far.

Just one more night then I get 4 off, and I can't wait!  Gonna be a long night cause I don't think any people will be going home today.  Had a couple that should be transferred to Des Moines but I don't know if the docs will go with that.  I mean one guy NEEDS to go. He really needs specialists.

And we've got a couple other surgeries being admitted. OH, and not enough help.  GREAT!  Better put on my really comfy shoes.

I tried a new foundation today.  Revlon Colorstay.  It actually lasted. Here it is. Its around $7.00  Of course I got the lightest shade I could, and it was a pretty good match
I snapped a pic of what I looked like when I got home from having it on for 14 hours
Not to shabby I'd say!  I've got Colourpop on my eyes just in case anyone cares, and it lasted the entire shift as well. Impressed!  Time to buy more Colourpop eye shadow I'd say.

I'll do a full review soon up on You Tube.

As for my fitness journey. Well I've lost almost 3lbs!  In less than 3 weeks.  How amazing is that. Guess eating healthier and going to Crossfit actually works. Imagine that.  Who would think that eating less shit food, and working out means you lose weight.   No magic pill needed.

I will be able to blog and post more You Tube videos over the next few days.  I like working 3 in a row cause it gives me more days off, but dang, it doesn't leave me much time to do anything but work, sleep shower and eat before work. Glad I had a few mins to write something up.

Hope you all like what I had to ramble about.

Hi ho, Hi ho, its off to Crossfit I go, then work

So I'm really looking forward to the first half, the second, not as much.  I like my job, I really do, but well, here lately we've had some really pretty sick people, and half of them, its due to the shit they have done to themselves.  The meth heads, the alcoholics, the smokers with lung problems( they still smoke)  It does just make me think "wtf people why are you ruining your body"   Esp to the kid in his mid 20s strung out on drugs.  God, I hope he gets the help he needs. He won't make it to 30 if he doesn't.

Seeing that sure makes me want to go to Crossfit, eat a healthier diet, take care of this body, cause until cloning and brain transfers are a reality, this body is it for me.

And on that note, I've now lost (drum roll please)  2.2lbs this month. Ok, before you all go "so what"  I struggle to lose a pound a month.  But this no -sugar challenge I've been on with some of my Crossfit group, it seems to be working,  And we didn't even start it until after Labor day.  So in reality, its only been 2 weeks!  AMAZING!!!

Who would have thought that working out, and eating healthier could help you lose weight???  About 75% of the USA really.  We are all still looking for that magic pill, the quick 20 min workout that doesn't involve sweat or hardly moving.  The ability to eat whatever you want, in the right combo of other food, and magically lose weight without cutting calories. Doesn't seem to work, does it.  But cut out something that is not healthy for you at all, who really NEEDS processed sugar, increase you veggie intake everyday ( and I've not even managed everyday) and workout 2-3 times a week, and BOOM, a couple pounds gone.  I even feel a little slimmer.

I tried out that GlamGlo facial mask last night.  I liked it.  I want to try out a couple more.  It really made my skin feel so soft and smooth even this morning. Man, why does that stuff have to be so expensive???

I also ordered some stuff from Ulta over the weekend.  Most of it was paid for via my Ulta points. Been saving them up for a while now.  Ok, so it was only like 4 things I ordered, but hey, that's pretty good for me.  It should get here on Thur, so I'll probably do a Mini Haul from Ulta video on Thur when it gets here.

Well its about time to get something to eat, get my work bag packed up, and think about my last will cause Crossfit will probably kill me off today.  Hey, that's not such a bad thing. I wouldn't have to go to work if I'm dead lol!

A review of Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

This is what it looks like. You can get it on Amazon for about $7.00 which is a great price. I found it at my local Wal Mart for about the same price.  No hating cause I shop at Wal Mart. In my neck of Iowa, its WalMart or nothing.   I wish there was a Target close by, but oh well.

Ok, back to my review.  I put it on about 10:30 this morning and after 8 hours of wear, it lasted pretty good. I have normal to combo skin. My nose still gets a little oily as does my chin and forehead, but they are not as bad as my nose.   Its a light medium coverage, but fairly buildable.  I put one layer on my forehead, cause I have bangs and don't need as much coverage there.  I put a full layer on my cheeks, and a light second layer.  I've got some freckles and a little redness I want to cover there.
On my chin and nose, just one layer, then whatever was left over on my beauty blender after my second layer on my cheeks.

I also found that my other makeup applied well over the top.  It didn't move around to much after I set it with a powder.  I pretty much always set my foundations with powder no matter what.  But my concealer, I used Tarte's Shape Tape today, and blush applied well on top of this foundation.

I found that it didn't settle into my fine lines for quite sometime.  Every foundation I have ever tried settles a little, esp in my smile lines,  but I smile A LOT so that's ok.  This foundation didn't settle much, and I'm quite happy with that aspect of it.

It did get just a little worn off around my nose. Not to bad, and some of that may be due to my nose being just a little drippy thanks to allergy season, and I've wiped it a time or two.  So I won't knock it down to much cause I probably wiped it off.

I think this is a nice inexpensive foundation that I will use again.  There are I think 7 shades on Amazon, I wish they had more.  Not much in the way for darker skin people out there.  That needs to change.  The lightest shade was a good fit for me, as I'm quite pale skinned.

All in all, I'd recommend this foundation for most people.  It seems to last for several hours.  I need to wear it on a day I work a 12 hour shift to see how it stands up after 14 hours on my face.  But for the 8+ I had it on today, I'm happy with the way it looks.  So if you have ever thought about trying this out, or you are on the lookout for a new inexpensive foundation, give this a try.
