So I was doing a higher protein way of eating in Jan. Oh, nothing way super high, but higher. It was going ok, although I was having trouble getting enough protein, but I was getting close everyday.
Well, in Feb I thought I would try a little less protein and a little more carbs. Not a good idea. Yes, it was much easier to get the lesser amount of protein cause carbs are everywhere, but well, my body just went "thank you, I'll put this right here, in your belly fat." UGH!
So, back to the higher protein. Ok, its not actually high protein. I eat 40% of my diet as carbs, 40% of protein, and 20% as fat. Of course, my diet fluctuates a little day to day, but that's what I aim to hit or come close to. It just works for me at this point. I also think I might try lowering my calories just slightly, 100-150 calories a day for a mini cut. What a cut is, is dieting down a to get rid of fat while maintaining muscle. Then I think when summer is almost over, I'll up my calories by 200-300 a day to bulk, which is eating more and trying to put on muscle. Ok I'll admit, I'm really looking forward to that lol
Now I need to pick out a good program. So many weight lifting programs out there I just can't manage to decide. Bodybuilding.com has about 1000 programs, I've got about 30 books with great programs, and the internet is packed full off all sorts of programs. I'm leaning towards a Jim Stoppani program, or an Ashley Horner program. But then I've got one that I can decide to do 5days a week, 4 days or 3 days a week.
So today, after I got my hair done, I picked up some higher protein foods. Meats, Greek yogurt, that sort of stuff. And back to really tracking my foods cause I've slacked off the last couple days. Mainly cause what we ate was home cooked foods and I was to lazy to try and track each ingredient lol.
Been working on moving all my clothes, shoes, makeup etc into my "dressing room" I hope to get it at least 99% done tomorrow. Except maybe my sandals that are in storage right now. Maybe I'll get them moved, maybe I'll wait until next month.
I ordered a couple more palettes. Its been 2 whole weeks since I got any makeup. Actually just over 2 weeks, so that's pretty good. A couple BH Cosmetics palettes and one new thing from Colourpop.
I also might get some new shoes. Cause I don't have enough lol! So back to online shopping I go! Ta Ta
I may ramble about fitness, being a grandma, beauty, horses, dogs, cats and everything else!

Backsliding a little, this needs to stop!
So over the last couple weeks, I've backslid a little bit in my fitness. Oh, I've done some good workouts, but you can't out-exercise a bad diet. Ok, I guess if you run a marathon everyday, maybe, but I'm not running a marathon everyday.
I've been tracking my food, or at least part of it. I do great in the morning. And things go downhill from then. I just need to remember why I'm doing this. I need to tell myself that I CAN have any food I want, but I want a fit body more.
So its time to refocus and get back on track. I've actually done well so far this year. Just need to get back on the wagon before this slip up becomes a total clusterfuck.
I need to decide what workout program I want to do. I've got about 100. And I'm not kidding lol. Between programs I've found on Bodybuilding.com all the New Rules of Lifting books, and programs I've picked up over the years, I've got about 100. How do you pick? I'm not ever sure hoe you pick. Maybe I just need to pick on, and do it for 6-8 weeks, the judge how things are going.
I've also decided to start logging all my makeup. I want to write down what I've got, how I like it, if it wore ok, that sort of thing. It will help me prevent buying duplicates, and help me figure out what I really like, and want to keep.
We've also started moving my clothes and shoes into what will be my "dressing room" Its the room where I use to have my home gym. Now I'm going to have my clothes, shoes and makeup there. And I'll probably film my You Tube videos. It will take a few more days to get it all done, cause I'm going back to work tomorrow. I don't want to. Kind of want to get this all done and over with. Or at least done then I can arrange everything how I want it. I'd be ok with that lol.
So that's what's been going on with me. Hope things are great for you.

I have a brand new home gym!!!
Yes, it is 99% done. We've got to wait for hubby to get his shed to put his stuff in, his tools, etc. so we can have the treadmill out there, but otherwise everything else gym wise is out there. I've used it a couple times and LOVE IT!!!
I ordered a dumbbell rack today from Amazon to put my dumbbells on. That will be so nice.
Then my next thing will be a box to do box jumps on. Then I'll save up for my Concept 2 rower. That's going to be really nice to have.
I was kind of naughty yesterday. I ordered a makeup palette A new highlighter. Then I'm going to quit buying makeup for a couple weeks. Time to save up money for other stuff.
I hope I can walk tomorrow. I did a leg workout that focused on glutes today. I might not be able to walk. Oh well lol.

I saw "HER" at the mall yesterday
I saw "her" yesterday. Hubby and I went up to the hockey game with our
oldest and her fiance. Before we went to the mall and Lowes to pick up a
couple things we needed. And I saw "her" You know her. That really
fit woman you see in her yoga pants and t-shirt and she looks amazing.
It was really REALLY warm here lately. Like nearly 70 in Feb, in Iowa. So everyone was in t-shirts yesterday and a few people had their capris and such on. A few, yoga pants. Now I see ladies in yoga pants or leggings everyday. But you just don't see "her' everyday. That lady who is really into fitness. You can actually see her muscles in her legs, her glutes are nice and firm. You could see nice firm arms, and I bet if she flexed them, she'd have some nice muscle show up.
Seeing "her" made me really want to get into that sort of shape. Or at least get a hell of a lot closer than I am now. I need to buckle down a little more with my eating. Been slacking a little this week. I need to track it better, and really ensure I get my protein and keep the carbs under control.
I ordered some more food containers. Somehow we have about 2000 lids that fit nothing. And maybe 4 containers with lids. Ok, slight exaggeration, but really. We have far more lids than containers. I take a couple meals with me to work, I need to eat a couple times in 12+ hours, so I need containers. And now I will have some new ones. Here's what I ordered from Amazon:
Here's the link where you can get them :
Food Containers
My home gym is coming along. We got stuff to put in between the garage stalls so the water won't seep in. Sometimes in the winter, if I have a lot of snow on my car, when it melts water seeps under the stall. Well, once we, or rather my sweet hubby, gets that put on, that won't happen. Then we can look for stall mats to put in, and then start moving all my stuff in. Its gonna take some time to get it all moved, but it will be worth it.
Then comes the hard part, figuring out what program to use. There are so many on Bodybuilding.com and everywhere else all over the internet. And I have a few books with programs I could follow too. I just need to pick one and do it!

Trying to save money is so hard lol
I have been trying to save up a little money here and there. Mainly cause I do want to buy better quality equipment for my home gym when we get it all set up. I have a cheap rower, and want a Concept 2. Those things are like $800-900. Not cheap. I also want a assault bike to go with my spin bike. Now those are not quite as expensive. I can get a good one for around $600. So I've been trying to save up some money so I can slowly get stuff.
But then temptation strikes lol. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Juvia's Place. I wanted the new Saharan palette but it of course was sold out. So I got the others. All of them lol. And last week I ordered some stuff from Kylie Cosmetics. Oh, its not all that much, but still. That money could have gone towards my home gym.
So I need to really REALLY buckle down. Next paycheck I'm going to put at least $100 into my savings account. If I do that with every paycheck, I'd have that assault bike in just a few months! And then I can save up for that rower. Maybe I'll even pick up an extra shift sometime and put my overtime into savings. That would help too.
My fitness journey has been going fairly well. I've totally fallen in love with lifting weights again. Now I like Crossfit. I really do. But well, its just not my dream love. I just love lifting weights. I love how strong it makes me feel. How it changes my body. I just love weight lifting/bodybuilding.
I'm going to thin out my fitness video/dvd collection. I've got stuff there I've not used for years, and won't ever use again. I've sold some stuff already. Used the money to buy a weight lifting belt, some BCAAs and new plate weights for my barbell. I bet I could sell more and use the money for other stuff. I love to sell the stuff I don't use and buy new stuff. Like getting free money lol. Kind of allows me to save money and buy some stuff I want.
I have also gotten a magnetic palette and have been working on depotting some palettes and putting them in the magnetic one. It really will help with storage. I got all my Naked palettes and the Manny MUA and one BH Cosmetics palette in it and still have more room to go. I need to go get some stuff so I can put all my Morphe palettes in one. I could really free up space putting my Morphe palettes down into one or two magnetic palettes.
Lots to talk about today I guess. Hope everyone has a great day!

Super busy
Work had not slowed down much, ok, at ALL! Way to many really sick people. And just how many people need new hips and knees in such a small community? My word, 90% of the area should have metal joints by now. Seems like 2-4 people get something replaced every week, and in such a small community, that's some number.
We are starting the work on getting stuff cleared out so that we can get my home gym set up. Hubby has been clearing out a shed in our back yard and making plans on what to move and where to set stuff up. It will take a few weeks, but I'm pretty excited. I'm actually feeling like this time is the one that I'm going to really get into good health, and good shape.
I've gotten some new stuff here recently and have ordered some more. I have made a review video on a couple products I've gotten and reviewed. Here's the link
Urban Decay Primer and Setting Spray review
Been fighting a really bad cold for a week or so. At least it isn't the flu. A few nurses have gotten the flu. Side effect of work. Being exposed, on purpose, to god knows what. Oh well. I guess I signed up for it, but it doesn't mean I like it.
I guess I don't have much to say today. I've been in recovery mode. I had yesterday and tonight off, plus the next 2 nights off and I'm looking forward to it. To bad I have to work 3 nights in a row after that, but oh well.

My own home gym!
So, I have a small home gym. Its in a small room and its kind of cramped quarters. Here's a link to a video I posted about my home gym set up.
My Home Gym Set Up
As you can see, its kind of cramped. I can get a good workout in, but I spend time moving stuff around just to have space for deadlifts, then move stuff around again, to do bench press. Kind of a pain, but I'm so thankful to have a home gym for days I can't get to, or simply don't want to go to the gym. Closest gym to me, 35 miles away. I wish I could have a gym closer, but nope.
So my hubby told me a plan. He'd like to buy a big shed and put it on a concrete slab we have in our yard. That's going to be just a little expensive. Oh, not horrid, but a few thousand bucks. Then once we move the mower, snow blower, and some of his tools, he wants to convert the third garage bay into a home gym. Put my gym, all my weights, the spin bike, my rower, and if we have room the treadmill out there. I'm not sure we'll be able to get the treadmill in there, and that's ok.
Now doing this will mean spending money to make changes. We'd take the garage door off, and wall it off, making it a simple wall, and maybe put in a walk out door. We'd need to seal the wall between the garage bays, cause it leaks water. You know, park my car when its got snow on it, and the snow melts, water seeps under the wall. It needs to be sealed so that doesn't ruin my gym equipment.
So, I've decided to cut back on my makeup buying and put that money in savings for my home gym set up. If I spend half as much on makeup and put that in savings I'll have a nice nest egg built up for a great shed for hubby, and getting my gym set up. I might have to just make due with a garage door for a while, but that's ok. It will be spring soon and I'll probably open up the door and let the nice weather in!
I'm ok with buying less makeup. After all, how many eye shadow palettes can one person use? I will still get stuff, but come on. I really need to cut back. Besides, here soon, I'm going to need new clothes since I'm starting to lose inches!.
I found a new way of eating I'm really going to give a go too. Eat more to Weigh less. It basically says we've all be starving ourselves and need to get to eating 2000 or more calories a day. I've been bumping up my calories up and I've not gained any weight. And I have more energy for my workouts. And it simply feels good to eat more freaking food.
Did you know that the 1200-1400 calorie a day diet a lot of women go on is the recommended calorie intake for toddler? Yes, a 2 year old is to eat the same amount of food as a full grown woman. How fucked up is that? Who did that? Who decided to tell full grown women that eating the amount of food for a 2 year old was what we needed to do? I'd like to slap the shit out of them.
So there is my plan. Less makeup, more savings, and eventually a great home gym set up in my garage!
