I'm not looking forward to most of this week. First off I work Sun Mon Tue all 12 hour shifts, night shift, I might remind you. Then Wed, when I get off work between 6am and 6:30am, I'll crash there at the hospital. Why you might ask. Well, I have a 6 hour "class" on Crisis management. You know, what to do if an armed person comes into the hospital. I'm sorry, I'm running away if someone with a gun comes in my hospital. I'll closed the locking doors in the hallways, and GTFO. Period. If I'm feeling nice, I'll tell the people who can walk to GTFO with me. There crisis managed. Anyway, its not worth driving the 40 mins home, only to get 3-4 hours sleep to drive back for the class when I can crash there and maybe get 5 hours sleep.
Then Thur, I was stupid and picked up a shift at the nursing home I worked at. so yep, great. WTF did I do that? I mean the extra money will be nice, but now I'm thinking that was pretty freaking stupid. Finally on Fri I have the weekend off. Going to Kansas Motor Speedway for the Nascar race there this coming weekend. Thank goodness. I'll be ready for a few days off after this week.
You know what's really sad, that we need a crisis management class. A class on how to deal with a gunman in a small town hospital. That's just a sad sad showing of society in the USA. That a small town hospital needs a class for its employees that teaches them ways to get out alive if a gunman shows up. Welcome to America everyone.
I'm hoping I'm not to tired and can make it to Crossfit Mon and Thur. Since my shift on Thur is only an 8 hour shift, and doesn't start til 10pm and it only a 5 min drive, I can go to the later class on Thur. I really want to get to going 3 days a week on a regular basis. I need it.
In a couple hours I'll be getting ready for work. Sigh. I don't wanna lol. I just need to win a the lottery and then I could work just one or two days a week to keep busy. Probably would help if I played lol. Oh well. Gonna keep thinking it will be a good shift, but looking at my co workers tonight I can only hope. It me, and two girls who are brand new nurses, just off orientation, and then a nurse ready to retire in a month or so, and she's shows her age. So I'm hoping its a nice easy night, cause the new nurses are good, just have limited experience with things. As long as we are not overwhelmed with patients or have really hard patients, it will be a good night. If we are overwhelmed, or have really hard patients, the newer nurses could find themselves overwhelmed, behind and needing more help. I'll help them, but there will be two of them. So lets hope and pray its a good night!
